Anybody whose anybody of the Irish Art World features in this sale – Paul Henry, Tony O’Malley, Robert Ballagh, Markey Robinson, Nathaniel Hone, Norah McGuinness, Maurice Wilks, Sean Keating, Patrick Collins, Nano Reid, Douglas Alexander, Mainie Jellet, Camille Souter, Michael Warren, Maurice MacGonigal, Louis le Brocquy, Cecil King . An outstanding work, to me anyway, is “Fire at the Royal Arcade, College Green, Dublin” (1837) by William Sadler II (c.1782 – 1839). Once again, in the bargain end of the sale are some superb Irish watercolours by Frank Egginton RCA (1908-1990) estimated at a paltry €1,000/1,500!
